Join Dr. Deborah Vietor-Engländer at the Wiener Holocaust Library in London to celebrate the centenary of Judith Kerr. This thought-provoking event will discuss Judith’s remarkable childhood, escape from Germany in 1933 and life as a refugee in London.
There will also be an exhibition of items at the Wiener Holocaust Library from Judith Kerr’s archive at 7 Stories. Copies of her childhood drawings, letters, and more will all be on display.
About the speaker: Dr Deborah Engländer is the author of a 700 page biography of Judith´s father Alfred Kerr. She has also edited three volumes of his works. She was first given When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by her sister, a Winton child, to try and explain her own childhood. Deborah’s fascination with Alfred Kerr and the similarity with her own family history has inspired her work. She knew Judith Kerr for many years and is President of the Alfred Kerr Foundation created by Judith and Sir Michael Kerr.
